Eurail Saver Passes

For groups of travelers of two or more people, Eurail offers the special Saver Pass. The Eurail Saver Passes are attractively priced. A Saver Pass gives a discount of 15% compared to a single Adult Pass.

Who can buy a Eurail Saver Pass?

The Saver Passes can be used by groups of two to five people. In other words, you can buy a Saver Pass if you travel together with one to four other travelers. A maximum of five persons can travel on one Saver Pass. If you travel with six persons, you could for instance order two Saver Passes for three travelers each.

Which Saver Passes are available?

Most Eurail Passes are available as a 1st class Saver Pass:

Many Regional and One Country Passes also have a 2nd class Saver Pass option.

How to order a Saver Pass?

Pass tabs - Saver

On the Pass page of your choice, you can select Adult, Saver or Youth by clicking one of the tabs. You then see the prices per person for the selected Pass type. Click Buy Pass! to go to the shopping cart. In the shopping cart, you can indicate the number of travelers and their names. Please note that not all Passes offer Youth or Saver options.

Saver Pass or Youth Passes?

Groups of two or more people who are 25 or younger on their first day of travel, can best buy Youth Passes. For example, two Youth Passes are cheaper than a Saver Pass for two persons. However, if one person is younger than 26 and the other person is older, it is more economical to buy a Saver Pass for two persons than a Youth Pass + an Adult Pass. Please consider that most Saver Passes allow you to 1st class rail travel, while most Youth Passes are second class only.

Traveling with a family

There is no such thing as a Eurail Family Pass. Families can best combine a Saver Pass with Youth or Child Passes, depending on the age of the children. For example: a family consisting of two adults and two children younger than 12, can buy a Saver Pass for two persons and two Child Passes (50% discount on the adult fare).

Should you travel together?

The Saver Pass ticket consists of the actual ticket and a so-called control voucher. This control voucher bears the names and passport numbers of all travelers. This means that it is not possible for individual members of the group to make different journeys at the same time. If only one person uses the Saver Pass to travel, it counts as a travel day for all travelers on the voucher.

Light bulbTip: If you travel for example with a group of four people, you can consider buying two Saver Passes for two persons each. This way you will have more flexibility to split up during your trip.
